This DVD offers a glimpse into the world of The Smiths’ two songwriting talents, Morrissey and Marr. For the first time, viewers will see a less guarded, more open but still cautious Steven Morrissey, who reveals much unseen, unedited, and rare footage. There is also a very positive and lively Johnny Marr interview from their heyday. The precise origin of the band’s name is unknown, though they said it was a reaction against names they considered fancy and pompous. Contradictorily, however, Morrissey stated in a 1984 interview, “I decided to call ourselves The Smiths because it was the most ordinary name, and I think it’s time that the ordinary folk of the world showed their faces.”
